Micah's Last Day in Chicago....

Micah always loved looking out the window at the bustling city below.
The last day it was almost like he knew this would be his last chance to soak it all in.
He just watched, and watched, and watched.
It was precious.

Saying Goodbye....

Wednesday we moved out of our little downtown Chicago apartment. Off and on the last few days I was reminded of the little things I had grown so accustomed to, and how very soon they would slip away.

It won't be common for me to hear the sound of a carriage roll beneath my window.
I won't hear the dull roar of the L in the distance, rushed and honking taxis, or the hum of a bustling city.  I will no longer be able to stroll down Michigan Avenue at my leisure.
The expansive blue lake is no longer blocks from my home...and my favorite caramel macchiato from  Starbucks will take a 30 minute drive.

As much as I was sad to think that my life surroundings was going to significantly change, nothing brought me the genuine sorrow as that of having to say goodbye to the friends and faces I have come to love. The first goodbye came on a Friday night. I just wanted to curl up in bed and pretend that I didn't have a heart, and I didn't know how to feel hurt.

But I just couldn't. I had a heart. And yes, it hurt.

As I felt the hurt, I was reminded of all the joy, all the love, and all the warmth that my friendships have brought into my life. I decided that I wouldn't want to trade the current bit of sorrow for the months and years of friendship I had in my memory.

I decided it was better to love while living, to laugh, and than sometimes cry... it is at that moment we are truly human.

The Army Crawl

Our little Rosberry has finally started to take off!!! On Sunday he came down with a really bad cold. A bit into the afternoon he began this little army crawl. He hasn't stopped!!! I can't believe how much energy he expends even when he is sick. I'm scared what next week will be like when he is back up to full energy! He get's quicker and quicker everyday. We are offically starting to "baby proof."  Justin: watch this video carefully....I think he could teach you some good moves :-)!

Whispers of Fall

Aunt Mandy brought us some gourds she grew.
Micah looked so cute with them.
Of course he had to try eating them!

The Water Baby

Micah still loves his baths!

He loves to have the water splash him! Look at his serious little face!

All wet
